The Role:
The Optician plays a critical role within Solis Optics and is crucial to our success by delivering world-class service to our customers. You'll often be the first point of contact with the public, so you must bring with you your passion for people and your drive to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
This position is a full-time role working up to 40 hours per week, Mondays to Saturdays.
What Will You Be Doing?
Provide recommendations for eyeglasses and/or contact lenses.
Assist patients in selecting appropriate frames based on their needs and preferences.
Measure pupillary distance (PD) and other fitting parameters.
Be knowledgeable about lens options and coatings, guiding patients towards suitable choices.
Verify lens prescriptions and ensure accurate order placement.
Adjust and customize frames for proper fit and comfort.
Educate patients on proper eyewear care and maintenance.
Maintain accurate records and paperwork.
Document patient examination findings and recommendations accurately.
Process eyewear orders and verify insurance information.
Maintain patient files and clinic inventory records.
Knowledgeable in billing of Vision Care Plans.
Contribute to a positive patient experience:
Greet and interact with patients in a friendly and professional manner.
Answer questions and address concerns with clarity and empathy.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Perform pre-testing procedures, as necessary.
What Do You Bring?
Minimum two years experience in a customer service focused retail environment
Valid Optician's license in the province of Ontario
Minimum one-year in an optical environment
Excellent organization and time management skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to adapt and respond quickly to changing priorities via critical thought and problem solving
A reputation for delivering results through successful people management
General PC knowledge, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
