The Role:

Solis Optics Burlington (formerly MDO Opticians) is looking for someone like you to bring your exceptional skills and experience with you and join us as our newest Licensed Optician.


The Licensed Optician plays a critical role within Solis Optics and is crucial to our success by delivering world-class service to our customers. You'll often be the first point of contact with the public, so you must bring with you your passion for people and your drive to deliver an exceptional customer experience.

This position is a Full-Time, permanent role working up to 40 hours per week, Mondays to Saturdays.


What Will You Be Doing?

  • Educating clients about the best eyewear choices for their lifestyle

  • Assisting with selection of frames to suit your client’s aesthetic and performance needs

  • Performing frame and facial measurements to ensure correct fit and positioning of new eyewear

  • Upholding excellent customer service standards using your charisma and problem-solving skills

  • Performing repairs and adjustments to customers' eyewear

  • Contributing to store retail sales goals

  • Communicating with patients in person, by phone, and by email

  • Billing the patient, their medical service provider and other third parties


What Do You Bring?

  • Provincial license or certification by a nationally or provincially recognized college as an optician, and in good standing

  • Passionate about customer experience; a great communicator who can provide exceptional interactions with customers

  • Committed to excelling as a member of a high performing team

  • Good computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office Suite

  • Previous retail experience an asset
