Optician and Frame Buyer / Inventory Manager

We are an independent optometry practice and eyewear boutique with 7 optometrists and a team that genuinely loves what we do. Our optical is built around carefully curated independent eyewear collections, exceptional patient care, and a warm, welcoming experience that feels different from traditional retail optical.

We are looking for an experienced optician who also has a strong eye for frame buying, merchandising, and inventory management. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both the technical side of optics and the artistic side of building a beautiful eyewear collection.

This is a highly collaborative role within our leadership and optical team, with opportunities to help shape the direction and personality of our eyewear boutique.

What You’ll Be Doing

Patient Care and Optical Styling

Guiding patients through frame and lens selection with a personalized, fashion-forward approach

Adjusting, fitting, troubleshooting, and dispensing eyewear

Recommending lens products and coatings based on lifestyle and visual needs

Providing a welcoming and elevated patient experience from start to finish

Supporting contact lens sales and optical product education

Assisting with repairs, adjustments, and follow-up care

Frame Buying and Inventory Management

Curating and maintaining a thoughtful assortment of independent and handcrafted eyewear lines

Meeting with frame representatives and participating in the purchasing process

Monitoring inventory levels, budgeting, and frame performance

Identifying gaps and opportunities within the frame collection

Creating visually appealing frame displays and merchandising throughout the optical

Participating in inventory counts and frame board organization

Attending trade shows and industry events when appropriate

Technical and Team Support

Supporting and mentoring team members with dispensing knowledge and technical training

Assisting with lens measurements, troubleshooting, and quality control

Working collaboratively with the optical and lab teams to ensure smooth workflow and turnaround times

Helping improve processes related to patient experience, organization, and efficiency

What We’re Looking For

Licensed Optician or extensive optical dispensing experience

Strong understanding of lenses, frame fitting, measurements, and adjustments

Passion for independent eyewear and fashion-forward optical

Strong sense of style, merchandising, and visual presentation

Warm, personable, and confident communication skills

Highly organized with attention to detail

Comfortable balancing patient care, inventory management, and administrative responsibilities

Experience with frame buying or inventory management is considered a strong asset

Experience with edging and specialty frame work is an asset
