Specialty Symposium 2019 this fall will be hosted in our new venue, Riviera Event Space, in Vaughan, just north of Toronto’s City Limits. This year’s line-up brings back Charlie Sacarelli, ABOM, a crowd favourite from Inside Optics 2019. Charlie will be presenting his keynote address on the challenges facing opticians when putting prescriptions in frames with wrap. Charlie will also be sharing his in-depth knowledge of prisms in his breakout session – Yoked Prisms. Register early for this one as seating is limited.

We will be welcoming five new presenters this year including Fiona Anderson from the UK.  Albert Mo from McCray Optical will share his enthusiasm for frame materials and repairs in his breakout session. Dr. Robert Kloepfer, ABOM will be speaking about what an optician should know about handling ocular emergencies. Hoya Vision will be sponsoring Robert Alexander who will speak on the topic of Binocular Harmonization Technology. Chantal Gravel from Nikon Optical will be updating us on the importance of exact measurements when fitting state-of-the-art PALs and how to problem solve them. Fazal Khan, RO, the Registrar of College of Opticians of Ontario, will be there accompanied by Bryan Todd, RO, the College President, to update attendees on what’s happening at the College. You won’t want to miss the trade show where you will see the latest in products and services from the companies you know and new exhibitors.
