Four New Presenters & Return of a Favourite
As Frontline Vision Care specialists, Opticians are committed to staying on top of advances and trends in eye care and consumer trends. The OOA Professional Learning event this Fall has a great lineup of amazing presenters and great current topics to help members remain dedicated professional learners.
This year’s Professional Learning Ottawa is welcoming four new presenters and welcoming back Dr. Jonathon Wareham (The Space Between) by popular demand. Dr. Wareham will continue his series on understanding mild traumatic brain injury patients’ vision care needs and how opticians play a role in treating ocular concussions. Get ready to welcome Elaine Grisdale ((Managing Myopia) will be joining us from the UK along with Ottawa’s own, Dr. Angela Malik (Pediatric Contact Lens Fittings; Little Eyes Big Challenges). Dr. James Farmer (What an Optician needs to know about Ophthalmic Pathology) will also be joining us. With the proliferation of personalized PALs come new technology for taking fitting measurements and the need for new problem-solving skills. Chantal Gravel from Nikon Optical will update attendees on the latest in measuring technology and how to problem solve these state of the art lenses.
Fazal Khan, RO, College of Opticians of Ontario (COO) registrar, and Bryan Todd, RO, COO president, will be updating attendees on what’s happening at the COO.
